2013 Grenache


Medium garnet in the glass, this wine has a juicy nose of Strawberry and Cherries.  In the mouth it is surprisingly acidic, with spicy flavors of dark plum and some floral notes. The tannins are very light and recede quickly on the moderate finish.

Winemaker notes

The grapes went to the tank whole cluster after being gently foot tread by my children in the bins.  Following a 5 day cold soak to extract as much color as possible, the fermentation was completed in 8 days.  The wine completed Malolactic Fermentation naturally in a neutral 400 liter French oak puncheon.  It was in puncheon for 14 months and racked once.  Blended with 5% of our Las Madres Syrah.
